Best Bicycles in India under 10000 INR

In this review, I will be comparing the Top 10 Best Bicycles in India under 10000. I will be looking at the overall quality, price as well as feature like suspension, gear etc. All products selected are geared cycles priced below 10000 for Adults.

Buying a budget bike is generally more difficult. You need to research the product well else you will spend a lot of time and money maintaining the same.

Well, so which is the best cycle in India below 10000?

So, if you are not looking to read the entire review, you can simply buy Mach City iBike or Hercules Roadeo Hardliner depending upon the type of cycle you are looking for. The Mach City iBike is more of a city bike and Hercules A50 is an MTB.

Having said this, you still need to have the right expectations. You cannot compare Rs. 10,000 cycle with a really well made Rs. 20,000 bicycle. There will be a difference in the quality of components used.

Best Cycles in India Under 10,000

1. Hercules Roadeo A50

If you are looking to make a statement with your bike, this cycle will certainly get you the attention. The bicycle looks really nice and premium. The decals used are bright and modern looking. This is easily one of the best Hercules gear cycles below 10000 in India.

The cycle rides really well. You can go over minor bumps and potholes on the road with ease. If you are not planning on riding more than 25 km a day, this bike will suit you really well. You can look at upgrading the saddle later on for more comfort.

This bicycle is available in a cool yellow colour on Flipkart. (Link below the picture)Hercules Roadeo A50 - Best Cycle in India Under 10000

A lot of people messaged me stating the A50 is showing as out of stock at their pin code. You can also look at the Hercules Roadeo Rampage (Use this link for latest price) which has similar features. The main difference between the two models is that Rampage uses a steel frame while A50 has an aluminium alloy frame.

  • The front wheel uses a disc brake, while the rear tyre is equipped with a wire brake.
  • The frame is made of lightweight aluminium alloy
  • The bike comes with 21 gears. The gear type used is thumb/easy fire shifters (Shimano)
  • The cycles also have a front suspension. This really helps on bumpy roads
  • Tyres are 26 inches

2. Mach City iBike

This bicycle also featured in our list of best cycles in India. This shows how good a product it is, even if it is priced below Rs. 10,000. This is the perfect bicycle for someone looking to commute say around 10 to 15 kilometres a day.

4. Btwin Riverside 100

I personally really like the colours and the decals on the bike. The Roadeo A275 is easily the best-looking budget cycles in India.

Key Features:

  • This is a 21 speed geared cycle with Shimano derailleurs (Thumb shifters)
  • The frame is really well made. It uses an aluminium alloy.
  • The front wheel has a disc brake, while the back wheel has normal wired brakes.
  • The tyre size is 27.5 inch (Larger compared to regular 26 Inch tyres)

7. Atlas Voltage

We don’t get a lot of bicycles nowadays with raised handlebar right out of the factory. These were quite common a few years back. I really like this additional feature. This immediately adds a comfort ride option to your bicycles. Helps you give your back the much need comfort once in a while during the ride.

The bicycle has a nice Black and Gold colour

This is a similar model to the one above(Number 3). The main difference is that this cycle has only front shock absorbers. To be honest, I would prefer a budget bicycle without shock absorbers (Or with just the front ones). This gives you better build quality.

Remember, if 2 bicycles are selling the same cost but one has premium features. The manufacturer of the premium bicycle will have to cut costs elsewhere to make a profit.

I hope that was not too confusing 🙂Atlas Voltage cheap budget cycle India

  • Uses wire brakes on the back wheels, while the front wheel has a disc brake.

8. Kross K-40

Kross is comparatively a new brand in India. However, I really liked this bicycle. You get a nicely balanced bicycle for the price you pay. This bicycle is again in the comfort bike category. It is not meant to be used for long distance riding.

You can use it for your daily exercise routine or a casual ride around the park.

9. bikeARK Orb (Fixie Cycle)

You would immediately notice that this is not your regular bicycle. It cycle looks amazing but you should not buy it for its looks. It is a fixie cycle. If you do not know what a fixie bike is, keep reading. I will explain it in a brief.

This bike has two modes of operations. It has a rear flip flop hub. You can use this to change the mode of operation.

  1. Fixie mode or Fixed Gear – In this mode, the bicycle moves only when you feet pedal. If you stop pedalling the bicycle will immediately stop. Think of it like your pedals are hard-wired to your back wheel. The wheel moves only when you move the pedal.
  2. Freewheel mode – This is like your regular bicycle. In this mode, you can stop pedalling but the bicycle will still keep cruising.

I hope this helps you understand how this bicycle works.

bikeARK ORB BluebikeARK ORB - Fixe Cycle India

Check live price and user review – Flipkart

Key Features:

  • Nice clean sleek design. If you like attractive bikes that go fast. You can buy this product.
  • As the name suggests, this is a fixie bike. It does not have gears
  • The frame is made using steel but it is light compared to other bicycles on this list.
  • It does not have suspensions.
  • Tire size is 26 Inches.
  • It also sports a bullhorn handlebar for extra comfort during long rides

Riding in the fixie mode requires some practice. I suggest going slow for a couple of months before trying to speed up.

10. Kross Maximus

The bike looks really good. I love the black colour on it and the minimalist decals. The bike looks simple but works really well. It is a well built robust bicycle. It has a front suspension to take you over the rough terrains and trails.

Tip – You can actually remove the stickers altogether to get a nice clean black look.

Key Features

  • The frame is made out of stainless steel. The makes the bike a bit bulky.
  • The front wheel has a disc brake while the rear wheel has a regular wired one.
  • Comes with front suspension

Important Tip: Bicycles bought online come in a semi-assembled state (80 to 90% assembled – depending on brand and model bought).  You can do it on your own. This will help you know your bicycle inside out. If not, you can take help of the nearby cycle shop.

These bicycles can be good starter bicycles for teens. They can use them rough terrains, have fun, while not splurging a ton of money on their ride. If you a mid-aged adult planning on taking up cycling to keep fit, again the bicycles listed on this post can be a good starting point. It lets you explore your passion for cycling without committing too much financially. Once you get your confidence back, you can go for better bicycles priced under 30000.

Things to keep in mind while buying a budget bicycle:
  • Try to buy the bicycle with minimum features. Most people will not need a dual suspension bicycle for riding on roads (I will recommend you buy a cycle with no suspensions – rear or front)
  • You will need gears only if you plan to ride for longer distances. The other reason for buying a geared cycle is to ride over difficult terrains like hilly areas/bridges etc – Buying a geared cycle will be a good decision for most people
  • Check if the bicycle comes equipped with essential accessories like the side stand, mudguard or a bicycle bell (Depends on your requirements) – Most budget bicycles might avoid these to save on cost. It will be good if you can order the same while you buy your bicycle.
  • Maintain your bicycle well. Clean it regularly. Lubricate moving parts such as chains, derailleurs etc on regular basis. If you take care of your cycle, it will last you longer and will require less cost to be spent on maintaining it.

This is a great and really helpful and well thought out article. The best I’ve come across in my hours long research.

I have a daily commute of about 3 km, and I’m thinking of buying myself a ‘MACH CITY IBIKE HARDTAIL’. It has front suspension and is not geared (opposite of what you advised).
I like the idea of having a front suspension because I’d be mostly riding on Indian roads and I’d like a bit comfy ride but I’m open to suggestions what do you think?

PS I like Mach City because of their clean and simple looking design.

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Utkarsh,

Thanks for the kind words 🙂

Go for Mach City – Two reasons:
      1. It is a really good bike.
      2. You like it – This is more important. You will utilize the bicycle most only if you enjoy it (Looks/Ride quality etc)

Front suspensions are ok, but not a deal breaker. You can go with them.

I don’t suggest them mainly because you can easily do without them for short rides. And rigid frame bicycles require lesser effort compared to bicycles with suspension.

  • Yash Radhakrishnani

I’m planning to buy a bike under 10000 for a daily commute of about 25 kms. I’ll be using the bike mainly for Main and internal roads. I would also want to, sometime in the coming months, go for a long distance ride. Please suggest the ideal bike for me from the aforementioned 10 bikes

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Yash,

I would suggest either the MachCity iBike (Geared) or the Btwin Riverside 100 (The price is now a little higher but worth it) for your needs.

      Cheers!!

  • Rajesh Rao

I am 42 years old, Male, 6ft in height and 75 kgs in weight.
I travel 10 Kms daily by bicycle on main road with steep ups and downs
Please suggest suitable budget bicycle .

    Regards
    Rajesh

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Rajesh,

You can opt for the Mach city iBike. It is comfortable and light (For this budget). For your height, you will need the “Large” frame size. I found two options on Amazon right now – Click here to view them

I will suggest you opt for the seven-speed model. It also a bit cheaper compared to iBike HT and will provide you with means to tackle the ups and downs on your cycling route.

      Cheers!

  • Nibras Roshan

Hi, I am planning to buy a bike around 10k. I wish to use it for daily commute of about 10km and weekend trips that may go over 30km. I am also 80kg. Can you suggest something? I recently visited a bicycle shop and there was a model by Kross which was amazing and around the budget, also a single speed bike by cosmic. Any suggestions?

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Nibras,

A single speed bicycle is good for 10 Kms. However, as you said you are planning longer 30 km rides, I will suggest you buy a bicycle with gears.

Also, most good adult cycles are designed to carry a load of more than 80 Kgs, so you don’t have to worry about your weight.

My recommendation would be to go for Machcity iBike or the Riverside (Check the links in the article above). If you can increase your budget slightly go for the Machcity Munich with gears (Available on Amazon)

Stay safe and enjoy your ride!

  • THARUN

Hi. Iam 90 kg and my age is 21 .I need a cycle to go around 10-15 km daily .suggest me a cycle .the roads I use to go is with not good has some ups and downs

  • Bhaskar

Hi, May I know your opinion on buying dropdown handle cycles with thin tyres (BSA Mach, Hero Mirage, Hero Hawk etc). Do you suggest any other model. I’m 92kgs, and plan to travel some 12kms. Route is not smooth road). Are dropdown handles ok to ride other than the aesthetic look?

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Bhaskar,

Dropdown handles may cause backpains or other niggles if your fitness levels are not up to the mark or if you not used to ride bikes for longer periods of time. I will suggest most beginners opt for good Hybrid bicycles to start off with. Later on, you can upgrade to a road bike (With drop-down handles). Remember, good road bikes are very expensive.

      I hope this helps.

  • SAUMYARAJSINH ZALA

Planning to buy a bike for daily 30km ride. My height is 5.6. My way have bridges so planning to go for geared but does suspension matter? Which bike would you suggest?

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Saumya,

You can opt for a geared bicycle to counter the bridges. If the roads are good (Not very bumpy with potholes that you can avoid), opt for a bike without any suspensions. Buying a bicycle with suspensions in this price range is not a good choice (It will only increase your maintenance cost). Mackcity iBike is a good option for you. Use the links above in the article to check all colour and gear options available.

      Have a good time riding!

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Hemant,

You can choose an MTB since you are looking to exercise. Choose one of the Roadeo series bicycles as per your budget. I have added a few names in this article. There is also a separate article on best Roadeo Bikes on the blog. (Or use the link I provided on this comment)

      Have a nice day!

  • Raj Grewal

    Hello,

I want to add cycling in my lifestyle to keep myself fit. I lastly rode a bycycle 15 years back. My budget is under 10k. Plz suggest which cycle should I buy.

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Raj,

Just go with the Mach City iBike – Check the link above. It is a good bike within your budget. It is lightweight (Hybrid) and can be easily used for daily commute.

      Have a good time riding.

      Cheers!

  • Haresh

Hi, My son prefered “keysto H200″ cycle Priced 9500-10000 (Showroom price).

Pl suggest its a good purchase for my son or not …
As he is a sport person, Regular cycling 10KM
    Age 15 Yrs. Height 5.9” Weight : 74KG
Purchase purpose for Fitness and smoothness

I would prefer other options because “Kesto H200” is china company

I don’t have ideas in other options

    Best wish

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Haresh,

As you rightly pointed out, It seems like a Chinese bike. I have not heard of the brand or tried out this bicycle before.

My personal suggestion would be to avoid such products unless you are confident about (and can verify) the quality of components used on the bicycle.

You can buy one of the bicycle models suggested above. You can have the bicycle assembled at a nearby bicycle shop (or can do it yourself at home).

      I hope this helps.

  • Praveen Ravi

    Hi
First, thank you for the great articles you have on the site. Found them very useful

I am a 33-year-old male, looking to start cycling for recreation and exercise. Either way, see myself doing less than 20 km per day on a largely flat surface with mixed road quality (Chennai). Your article on the best bicycles under 10,000 leads me to the mach city ibike as the top choice. I had three questions

First, I was thinking of going for a single-speed bicycle since my terrain will be largely flat (perhaps an occasional bridge). Does this make sense? Second, I was wondering if I should go for a rigid frame or a hardtail (in which case, should I pick the ibike hardtail). Third, would the standard 26-inch wheel, 19inch frame be good for me? (I am 5feet 10 inches and weigh 85kg).

Would be grateful if you could respond to this. Thanks again for all your lovely articles!

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Praveen,

Thank you for the kind words.

I will try and answer your queries below:

      1. I am assuming you will at least do 10 km a day. If that is the case, a bike with 7 gears should help you tackle some difficult terrain you may come across. Also, having a geared bicycle will keep the option open to do a longer ride over a weekend sometimes.

      2. My suggestion would be to go for a rigid frame. A hardtail bicycle in this budget range would mean a lot of maintenance (Time and cost). Plus the ride quality will also deteriorate over time.

      3. Yes, a 19-inch frame size should be comfortable enough for you. (If you are confused, test ride a friend’s bike or visit a nearby shop – ride the bike they have, you can buy the model you like later online)

Suggestion – Check out Machcity Munich. If you can spend a bit more, go for the geared option (Check both Flipkart & Amazon links in the article above for details).

I hope this helps. Have a great time riding your bike!

  • steins peterson

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Steins,

Since you wish to ride around 10 to 20 km daily, opt for a hybrid bicycle. You will find it more comfortable and easy to ride. You can opt for the Mach City iBike or Mach City Munich.

    ….which type of this cycle…???
    Want to purchase….tomorrow…
    Give some advice…

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Naveen,

Howler is an MTB cycle. If you wish to buy an MTB in this budget, you can also look at Hercules Roadeo. I have already compiled a list of best cycles in this range. Do have a look (Link in the comment).

  • Yash Singh

    Hi,
    Firstly great article!
I’m 23 year old male, height 5.9 ft and weighing around 110 kgs. I’m looking for a bicycle to get in shape and get fit overall. The terrain will be mixed with slopes, potholes and flat roads. What’ll be your recommendation?

    Thanks!

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Yash,

If you can increase your budget slightly, I will suggest going for Montra Trance or Helicon. You will find them on my article about best bicycles under Rs. 20000.

Opt for the Mach City Munich if you wish to keep your budget around Rs. 10,000 (Link the article above).

      Cheers!

  • Chetan Agarwal

    Hi,

    This was a great article.

I am 22 and height 5 feet 5 inches. I am looking for a bicycle to loose weight and get back in shape. I am planning to ride around 10 to 15 kms in a day. The terrain here is mixed with slopes and flat.

Can you please recommend me a cycle within a range of 10k?

P.S : The lower the price of the cycle the better it is but I am willing to pay upto 10k if low priced cycles are not an option

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Chetan,

You can buy a good hybrid bike. These bikes are lighter compared to MTBs and help you exercise for longer duration.

You can opt for the Mach City iBike or the Munich. Links in the article above.

      Cheers!

  • Swarn

Hello, First of all it’s a nice article and let me tell you i’m 16 year old student having a height of 5.4 ft and i want a cycle for daily 10 km (approx.) traveling (school, coaching) cum increasing height. i am thinking of Hercules Roadeo Hannibal Medium 26 T as i like it and i guess if i buy it from local dealer i’ll get it under 10k. Please suggest me the best bike considering my location i.e. Haldwani Uttarakhand

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Swarn,

Thank you for your kind words.

Hannibal is a good bike for teenagers. You can surely go for it if you have liked it. I am not sure about the shops in Haldwani. However, you can check for online offers during the Sale that is starting in the next few days on both Amazon & Flipkart. I am sure you will get a good deal online too.

      Have fun riding!

  • Amol Bhadavankar

    Hi sir ,

I am 32yrs , 5ft 3inch and weight 70kg , I wanna purchase new bike below 10k , for daily 30min ride to office in city , but I have low back pain . Which bike I should go for.
    Pls suggest .
    Thank you.

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Amol,

Go for something that will give you a good riding position. The handles should be slightly raised so that you need not bend a lot while riding. Mach City iBike can a be a good option for you since it is also lightweight.

Do keep your speed low and avoid potholes. I did not suggest a bike with suspensions since 10k is not enough budget for you to get good quality suspensions.

Remember – Take enough rest and do not exert as soon as you get your new bike. Increase your ride duration and frequency slowly as your body gets used to it. Also, if you have any serious issues, do check with your Doctor first.

      Cheers!

  • Manikandan T

Hi, I am 30 yrs old 5.6 height and 75 kg weight and planning to buy a cycle for daily commute to office(10 Km). My budget is under 10k. Looked at Mach city and think it will be a good choice. Want to know what is the difference between iBike and Munich model. And how a geared cycle or non geared cycle can make difference in comfort.

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Manikandan,

iBike has slightly thicker tyres compared the Munich. Munich is a premium model and it’s build and ride quality is slightly better compared to the iBike. If you can stretch your budget a bit, go for the geared version of Munich (Use the link above).

Geared cycle helps you counter different terrains with ease. E.g if there a bridge that you to need to climb, use of gears will make it more comfortable for your knees. (You will have to pedal more but the effort/force required by your knees gets reduced).

I have written a separate article on this site on this topic. You can read it form more details.

      Cheers!

      • Manikandan T

Thanks for the reply. I came through Hero Octane Zephyr 7s. How is it compared to Mach City Munich 21S. Mach city Munich 21S is coming around 13k and Hero Octane Zephyr 7s is around 10K. Which will be a good choice.

        • bicycleXP

          Hi Manikandan,

I will still suggest Mach city Munich. There is a difference in the ride quality of the two bicycles. It is better to invest a few extra rupees for a better product. Alternately, you can also consider iBike. It should be the same cost as that of Zephyr 7s.

  • Rajesh

Hi…my name is Rajesh, age 55, height 5.7, weight 100kg, doctor suggested for cycling to loose weight…so suggest me a best cycle for me….thank you……

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Rajesh,

Just go for Mach city ibike or Mach city Munich. Check the deals that on at Flipkart. I have updated the link in my article. You can use the same.

      Cheers!

  • Saurabh Deshmukh

    Hi BICYCLEXP,

I am looking for buying the Bicycle which I can use for long run like around 50 km. My Height is 5ft 11 Inch and Weight 75Kg. My budget is around 15K at max.

Also suggest me it is worth buying online or directly form the shop.

    Regards,

    • bicycleXP

      Hi Saurabh,

Go for the Montra Trance Pro. It should fall around the budget that you have. Buying online or offline is a matter of personal choice. I prefer buying online and assembling the bike myself. I also do this because most times you will get a better deal on branded bicycles online.

      Hope this helps.

My personal recommendation would be Machcity iBike. This is a much better bicycle compared to the DTB VX. If you want something more stylish, opt for the Munich. Link to the same is there above.

      Hello Dr. Sheik,

If possible go for the Mach City Munich. It is slightly more expensive compared to the non-geared Machcity but has better build quality, slicker tyres and more fun to ride.

      I hope this helps.

Hey, I am a DU student, my main requirements are daily commuting around campus and long rides for fitness. The bicycle should have gears and should be comfortable for short to medium duration rides. My budget is under 10k, please suggest me a good one.

Thank you in advance, great article. 🙂
